New Reputation Factions: A More In-Depth Look

You might remember the two new reputation factions which were released on November 1st – Jack’s Merchant Guild and the Society of Mechanical Engineers. I translated the new gear and did a brief overview of the factions way back when, but just today I’ve started actually grinding out those factions myself. Over the next couple weeks, I’ll be updating this post with my experiences and some quick guides on both factions.

Both factions are for level 60 characters. They are suitable for 60s of all experience levels: from fresh 60s to the pros who make Shandra Manaya look like a joke. Fresh 60s can get some awesome chestpieces and weapons, while the old hats will find the cheap and easily accessible t14 fodder enticing. I recommend that you grind out both factions (so you can get double the t14 fodder!). You can see translated screenshots of the starter gear in this post.

You can expect to earn between 100 and 125 credits daily (per faction; so up to 250 per day if you do both factions). Here is a quick rundown of the stuff you can buy from the vendors.

“Starter” Weapon: 900 credits (requires Friendly or higher)
“Starter” Armour: 900 credits (requires Friendly or higher)
Blue (Rare) t14 Boots: 120 credits
Blue (Rare) t14 Gloves: 120 credits
Blue (Rare) t14 Chestpiece: 180 credits
Blue (Rare) t14 Weapon: 225 credits
Gold (Superior) t14 Boots: 225 credits
Gold (Superior) t14 Gloves: 225 credits
Gold (Superior) t14 Chestpiece: 300 credits
Gold (Superior) t14 Weapon: 375 credits

For each faction, you will automatically receive a quest which will ask you to talk to the “leader” of that faction. (If you didn’t get these quests, abandon quests in the Normal Quests section of your log to make room.) These quests will give you 300 rep for each faction, and unlock daily quests.

You will begin at Favourable rank. You will need 15,000 reputation to graduate from Favourable rank. While at Favourable rank, you can accept four daily quests per day (per faction, for a total of eight). These quests are incredibly simple and quick. They’re definitely the easiest daily quests in the game!

From here on, I’ll be compiling a list of all of the different daily quests, their rewards, and objectives.
